Monday, October 18th - No School
Quarter 2 (Q2) Begins: We have officially wrapped up Quarter 1 and begin Quarter 2 on Tuesday, October 19. Grades are being finalized and report cards will be issued on Wednesday, October 28. Please remember that students must earn a passing grade of 70% for the Semester (average of Quarter 1 and 2) to pass their courses (and receive credit in High School). If you have questions or concerns about a grade, please reach out directly to the teacher of that class. Remember that you can review your student’s grades at any time in Skyward. You can message through the Family Portal or e-mail your student’s teacher. You can find help accessing Skyward and the Family Portal at this link. We will hold parent/teacher conferences on November 5th and will request parent attendance if your student failed a course. More information will be shared about conferences.

Comienza el Cuarto 2 (Q2): Terminamos oficialmente el Cuarto 1 y comenzamos el Cuaroto 2 el martes 19 de octubre. Las calificaciones se finalizarán y las boletas de calificaciones se emitirán el miércoles 28 de octubre. Recuerde que los estudiantes deben obtener una calificación aprobatoria del 70% para el Semestre (promedio del Cuarto 1 y 2) para aprobar sus cursos (y recibir crédito en la escuela secundaria). Si tiene preguntas o inquietudes sobre una calificación, comuníquese directamente con el maestro de esa clase. Recuerde que puede revisar las calificaciones de su estudiante en cualquier momento en Skyward. Puede enviar mensajes a través del Portal Familiar o enviar un correo electrónico al maestro de su estudiante . Puede encontrar ayuda para acceder a Skyward y al Family Portal en este enlace. Hello parents and family! October is National Bullying Prevention Month- a time to focus on raising awareness, and a great opportunity to remind students of the importance of this topic. Yes Prep North Central is using interactive videos to teach students how to better identifying bullying situations and peer-to peer conflict. This also includes next steps on what to do if bullying is identified, and an activity for all students- campus wide, to commit to prevent bullying. It's important to continue the conversation at home to help stress the importance of this topic to ensure safety for all. We have included informative videos for all parents/guardians. Together we can work together to ensure school is a safe environment for all students."

"Hola padres y familia! Octubre es el mes Nacional de prevencion contra el bullying- un tiempo ideal para recordarles a nuestros estudiantes la importancia del tema. Yes Prep North Central esta utalizando videos interactivos durante clase para ayudarles a identificar el bullying, o conflicto social entre estudiantes. Esta infomaccion tambien incluye pasos que seguir y personas/adultos que pueden ayudar si hay bullying. An adicion, la escuela completa participo en una actividad dando su promesa a conbatir el bullying. Es una conversacion que debe de seguir en el hogar para estresar la importancia del tema y para asegurar la seguridad de todos nuestros estudiantes. Aqui hemos agregado un video que le puede ayudar con esta convercacion. Juntos podemos asegurarnos que la escuela sea un lugar seguro y feliz para todos los estudiantes."

Updated Food Dropoff Policy
As of October 1, parents are no longer permitted to drop off food for their student(s). The following exceptions will apply:
1. If a student has a food allergy or dietary restriction and appropriate medical documentation has been provided to the School Certified Medical Assistant (Ms. Martinez), then parents may drop off food for their student.
2. If a student forgot their lunch at home (non-restaurant food), then parents may drop off food for their student.
We are updating this policy because lately the food drop-offs have been overly difficult to manage. Managing the food drop-offs are requiring us to use valuable time, space, and manpower. Ultimately, this creates an unsafe environment in which we are unable to verify who or what is getting dropped off for students. Help us create a clutter free and safe environment for all families and students by ensuring your student has their food, prior to leaving for school.
Política actualizada de entrega de alimentos
Desde del 1ro de Octubre, los padres ya no podrán dejar comida para sus estudiantes. Se aplicarán las siguientes excepciones:
1. Si un estudiante tiene una alergia a los alimentos o una restricción dietética y se le ha proporcionado la documentación médica adecuada a la Asistente Médica Certificada de la Escuela (Sra. Martínez), los padres pueden dejar comida para su estudiante.
2. Si un estudiante olvidó su almuerzo en casa (comida que no es de restaurante), entonces los padres pueden dejar comida para su estudiante.
Estamos actualizando esta política porque últimamente las entregas de alimentos han sido demasiado difíciles de manejar. La gestión de las entregas de alimentos requiere que utilicemos tiempo, espacio y mano de obra valiosos. En última instancia, esto crea un entorno inseguro en el que no podemos verificar a quién o qué se deja a los estudiantes. Ayúdenos a crear un ambiente seguro y libre de desorden para todas las familias y estudiantes asegurándose de que su estudiante tenga su comida, antes de irse a la escuela.
