Family Notes
Trailblazer Families,
Thank you for your continued support of the North Central students and staff. Even with school cancellations on Monday and Tuesday, we had a great week. There are only 9 days remaining in Quarter 2 and next week, some of our High School studnets will take the important STAAR End of Course assessment. If your student is testing, please continue to encourage him or her to rest well, eat a great breakfast, and give their best effort. Please remember that students must pass the End of Course Assessments in order to graduate High School.
Thank you again for your support as we strive to be an “A” school and Live the Blue Orange!
Quarter 2: There are only 9 days remaining in Quarter 2. Please check your student’s Quarter 2 Grades. Please remember that students must earn a passing grade of 70% for the Semester (average of Quarter 1 and 2) to pass their courses (and receive credit in High School). If you have questions or concerns about a grade, please reach out directly to the teacher of that class. Remember that you can review your student’s grades at any time in Skyward.
SAT: The class of 2024 will take the SAT on Saturday, December 3rd. Please ensure your student is on time, well-rested, and has a great meal so they can do their very best.
Trailblazer Family Night: Thank you to all families who attend the Trailblazer Family Night last week. Please plan to join our next Trailblazer Family Night on Thursday, January 26th at 6:00 pm. At this event we will have a parent/guardian social activity, short announcements, breakout informational sessions, food, drinks, and prizes. We hope to see you there.

Familias Trailblazers,
Gracias por su continuo apoyo a los estudiantes y al personal de North Central. Incluso con cancelaciones escolares el lunes y el martes, tuvimos una gran semana. Solo quedan 9 días en el Cuarto 2 y la próxima semana, algunos de nuestros estudiantes de secundaria tomarán la importante evaluación de fin de curso de STAAR. Si su estudiante está evaluando, continúe animándolo a descansar bien, comer un buen desayuno y dar su mejor esfuerzo. Recuerde que los estudiantes deben aprobar las evaluaciones de fin de curso para graduarse de la escuela secundaria.

Cuarto 2: Solo quedan 9 días en el Cuarto 2. Por favor, revise los grados del Cuarto 2 de su estudiante. Recuerde que los estudiantes deben obtener una calificación aprobatoria del 70% para el semestre (promedio de los cuartos 1 y 2) para aprobar sus cursos (y recibir crédito en la escuela secundaria). Flu Shots Available with Legacy Health Clinic
The Legacy Health Clinic here at North Central Secondary, a resource that is open to the entire community, can provide flu shots to students. Parents and families can call 713-574-9702 to set up an appointment with the Legacy Health Clinic.
Enrollment Lottery is Open
Families, our enrollment lottery is now open – this means that families can now submit applications for their students to attend YES Prep campuses for the 2023-2024 School Year. Please visit https://www.yesprep.org/families/enrollment-lottery for more information and to apply for the lottery.

Here are some words from her:
My name is Ms. Bundage & I am the new Student Support Counselor here at YES Prep Secondary. I am from Los Angeles California, and I’ve been a Texas resident for 2 1/2 yrs. My background consists of a bachelor’s and Master of Social Work with a concentration in child & families. I am truly passionate about the work I do to help children and families by uplifting, empowering, and encouragement. I am very excited to be a part of the YES Prep family and excited to tackle any of our students social, emotional, and mental health needs to make sure they are successful throughout their everyday life. Please feel free to reach out if you have any concerns about your student’s mental health, behavior, family hardships and or family/ life concerns. I look forward to working with your student and help create the best school year as possible.

Mi nombre es la Sra. Bundage y soy la nueva Consejera de Apoyo Estudiantil aquí en YES Prep Secondary. Soy de Los Ángeles, California, y he sido residente de Texas durante 2 años y medio. Mi experiencia consiste en una licenciatura y una Maestría en Trabajo Social con concentración en niños y familias. Realmente me apasiona el trabajo que hago para ayudar a los niños y las familias al elevar, empoderar y alentar. Estoy muy emocionado de ser parte de la familia YES Prep y emocionado de abordar cualquiera de las necesidades sociales, emocionales y de salud mental de nuestros estudiantes para asegurarme de que tengan éxito a lo largo de su vida cotidiana.
