New 6th Grade lunch change: 

6th grade lunch time will be adjusted to accommodate the higher number of students during lunch. Beginning on 11/18/24, we will be rolling out the new lunch times as pictured below: 

 

Dress Code: 

Student sweaters have been added to the school store. Please visit the site in order to purchase your sweater.

Senior Fees: 

The 1st installment of the Senior Fees was due on October 31st.  

If you have not paid your senior fee, please reach out to Ms. Tibbs-Jackson for next steps and the impact that this would have on your senior student.  

 

 Common Assessment letters will be sent with your student next week. Be on the lookout for how your student performed on the test!  

 

 

FAFSA and TASFA Completion

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

We want to remind you that the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid) must be completed by January 15th to ensure your student is considered for financial aid for the upcoming academic year. 

Completing these applications is an essential step in securing financial support for college, including grants, scholarships, and low-interest loans. Whether your student plans to attend a four-year university, community college, or vocational program, submitting the FAFSA or TASFA is crucial to maximizing their financial aid opportunities. This step is required by the State of Texas. 

If you have any questions or need assistance with the application process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our counseling office after January 6th. 

 

4-Year College Acceptance for the Class of 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

As college acceptance season progresses, we want to remind you to check in with your student to ensure they have received their 4-year college acceptance letters. It’s important that they have opened their college portals and reviewed all of the necessary documents and information. 

If your student is missing any required materials or updates, they should reach out to their college counselor immediately. This will help avoid any delays and ensure that all documents are submitted on time. 

Please take a moment to check in with your student and support them in staying on top of this crucial step in the college admissions process. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to contact our counseling office.

Lottery for 25-26 School Year NOW OPEN! 

We want to inform all parents that the YES Prep Lottery for School Year 25-26 is now open! Families can now submit their application for the upcoming school year. If you have a student that does not attend YES Prep currently, and you would like them to attend in the upcoming school year, complete an application today! Nuevo cambio de almuerzo de 6º grado: 

El horario del almuerzo de 6º grado se ajustará para acomodar al mayor número de estudiantes durante el almuerzo. A partir del 11/18/24, implementaremos los nuevos horarios de almuerzo como se muestra a continuación:

Finalización de FAFSA y TASFA

Estimados Padres y Tutores,  Queremos recordarle que la FAFSA (Solicitud Gratuita de Ayuda Federal para Estudiantes) o TASFA (Solicitud de Ayuda Financiera del Estado de Texas) debe completarse antes del 15 de enero para garantizar que su estudiante sea considerado para recibir ayuda financiera para el próximo año académico.  Completar estas solicitudes es un paso esencial para asegurar el apoyo financiero para la universidad, incluidas subvenciones, becas y préstamos a bajo interés. Ya sea que su estudiante planee asistir a una universidad de cuatro años, un colegio comunitario o un programa vocacional, presentar la FAFSA o TASFA es crucial para maximizar sus oportunidades de ayuda financiera. ¡Queremos informar a todos los padres que la Lotería de Preparación YES para el año escolar 25-26 ya está abierta! Las familias ya pueden presentar su solicitud para el próximo año escolar. Si tiene un estudiante que no asiste a YES Prep actualmente, y le gustaría que asistiera en el próximo año escolar, ¡complete una solicitud hoy!
